Our Policy Toward Your Privacy

Our privacy policy is this: We favor it.

For that reason, we will never acquiesce to the gathering of information about visitors to LinuxandMain.com without their permission and no, we do not consider visiting this site to be a grant of such permission. Period.

There are areas on this site where visitors may participate. We require that they provide us with their names and email addresses, which we may at our option verify. Upon the request of the visitor, we will withhold publication of name and address -- but we will not publish things the source of which we cannot confirm. This is for everyone's protection, but it is especially for our protection. Sorry, but we live in a litigious world, and if you're not willing to be responsible for what you say, you can scarcely expect us to be.

However, we will not compile or distribute email addresses of our visitors, ever, period. It might come to pass that we offer visitors the opportunity to "opt in" to a mailing list, but doing so would require the active participation of the visitor -- filling out a form specifically requesting such participation.

That having been said, we cannot guarantee that your email address won't be harvested by the various bots that visit sites to do exactly that. We do not condone such practices and were it in our power, we'd shut them down.

All of which is to say that we'll do our best to ensure your privacy, within the strictures of responsibility and technical possibility.
